Customer Service Student Assistant
Customer Service Student Assistants are public service employees responsible for providing basic library circulation services including discharging, sorting and preshelving a variety of library materials. Customer Service Student Assistants also keep the circulating and periodicals stacks neat and in correct order.
Hours and Pay
$7.60 / hour; at least 6 hours per week. Service desk hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 1:00am; Friday: 8:00am - 7:00pm; Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm; Sunday: 11:00am - 1:00am.
Customer Service Consultant
In addition to all of the skills of Customer Service Student Desk Assistants, the Customer Service Student Consultant is accountable for all aspects of library operation - to include opening and closing, cash handling, maintenance requests, patron registration, and emergency response plan implementation - during the library's hours of operation when staff members are not present. They use the library's computer system to perform a variety of patron and item related tasks, and are responsible for assisting with the training and supervision of Customer Service Student Assistants. This position requires at least one semester experience as a Customer Service Student Assistant.
Customer Service Reserves Student Assistant
The Reserve Student Assistant processes materials in electronic and physical formats for use by students in the course reserve collection. The reserve assistant acts as a liaison with faculty members regarding reserve materials. The reserve assistant processes book reserves, scans and processes E-reserves using Adobe Acrobat, ImageServer, and Voyager Cataloging and Circulation modules. This position requires at least one semester experience as a Customer Service Student Assistant.
