How to Apply for Positions at the University Libraries

The application process is carried out between the applicant and the supervisor of the position applied to. In order to view the applications you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free at the Adobe website.

Follow the steps below to ensure that you application is received by the right person:

If you are using the free Adobe Reader:

  • After selecting a position to apply for, click the "Apply for this position" link under its description. A .pdf file open with the position title filled out.
  • Save the document to your computer.
  • Fill out the application fully and answer the questions on the last two pages.
  • Print the filled out application and sign it on the second page.
  • You can drop off any application at the Information and Assistance Desk at Boatwright and they will be routed to the appropriate area supervisor.
  • It is a good idea to deliver applications for the Music Library and Media Resource Center directly to these locations during peak hiring times, such as the first few weeks of each semester.
  • Feel free to apply to multiple positions.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat Professional or Standard:

  • After selecting a position to apply for, click the "Apply for this position" link under its description. A .pdf file open with the position title filled out.
  • Fill out the application fully and answer the questions on the last two pages.
  • Type you full name in the signature box. By entering your name you certify that all the information on the application is correct.
  • Save the document to your computer.
  • Note the name and email address of the position supervisor, which is located at the top of the application.
  • Email the application as an attachment to the supervisor. Use a subject line such as "Library application" to ensure that your message is read.
  • Feel free to apply to multiple positions, but make sure you send each application to the proper supervisor.

Supervisors will contact you quickly to set up an interview if there are any available positions. You will be informed of further requirements for campus employment at that time.
