Interlibrary Loan Requests

Interlibrary Loan requests can be submitted electronically via the UR Library Catalog and through various databases in FirstSearch. ILL staff make extensive use of the resources of the Richmond Area Libraries Consortium (RALC), other Virginia libraries, and libraries throughout the country and world.

UR faculty members are also eligible to visit area consortium libraries in person and borrow up to five books with a University of Richmond Faculty ID. Circulation policies of the lending institution apply.

The Libraries provide subsidized interlibrary loan service to faculty, absorbing charges levied by the lending libraries. Budget and staffing restraints prevent the libraries from providing services for community patrons or for faculty spouses and children.

Faculty and Staff Document Delivery

Document Delivery is available to all UR faculty and staff.  The service includes delivery of books, articles, and reference book chapters for items that the UR Libraries owns in print format.  To locate and access articles in electronic format please see Journal Locator.

Materials may only be requested for work related purposes. The service cannot accommodate requests for personal, recreational or school-related purposes. Please note that Recreational Reading books, DVDs, Videos, Audio Books and Music CDs are not included in the delivery program.

Up to 5 requests may be made per day.  Turnaround time for delivery is 2 business days and there are no charges for these services.  Library staff will attempt 2 deliveries, however if no one is available the item will be placed at the Boatwright Library Main Service Desk for pickup.
