Borrow an iPad
Boatwright Library and Parsons Music Library have Apple iPads (version 1, 16gb, wi-fi only) available for checkout to current faculty, staff and students. Each iPad comes with the default applications. You are free to register the iPad to your personal iTunes account and download apps, however upon return to the library we will restore it to factory settings which will remove your personal information and any items you downloaded. Any purchases you make will also be removed.
Here are some apps you may want to try:
- AppStart - Better than a manual, apps and essential tips for getting started with your ipad.
- The Daily (two week free trial available)
- Netflix (separate Netflix account required)
- Angry Birds (warning, you will feel compelled to buy your own iPad after playing this)
To borrow an iPad please visit either Boatwright's Information and Assistance Desk or the Parsons Music Library circulation desk and present your ID. iPads are issued on a first come, first served basis. Use the grey button on the right side of this page to check iPad availability and place a hold on one if none are currently available. Each iPad may be borrowed for two weeks. One renewal may be possible depending on demand. By checking out an iPad, you acknowledge that you will be responsible for the device if it is damaged, lost or stolen. The replacement fee is $550 for iPads and $30 for damaged or lost power cords.
As stated above, you are welcome to install additional apps, download books, music and videos to the iPad while it is checked out to you. However any purchases you make will be removed once the iPad is returned.
