Moving interfaces and free boundaries are ubiquitous in many areas of mathematics and applied science. Dr. LeCrone will introduce some basic examples of each type of problem and discuss methods employed by mathematicians to formulate rigorous results when the setting for the problem is either changing or a priori unknown.

Taking place in an open venue in the library, “The Visible Scholar Series” provides a space for informal faculty talks on new publications. Students, staff and faculty can listen and view a “scholar in action".
