Item Retrieval Services
The Item Retrieval Services include delivery of books, articles, and book chapters for items that the UR Libraries owns in print format for all UR Faculty, Staff, and Students.
Please note that DVDs, Videos, and Music CDs are not included in the delivery program.
Delivery Options
- Hold for pickup: Items will be retrieved from the Libraries' circulating collection and made available for pickup at the front of the library. Pickup fulfillment may take up to 2 business days.
- Electronic delivery: requested articles or book chapter copies are delivered electronically.
- Delivery to your campus box: UR Faculty and Staff can have materials mailed to their departmental campus mailroom.
Submitting your request
To request a book from Boatwright Library
- Search for the item in OneSearch
- Identify the item and go into the item's record
- Under "Get It", click the Sign In option.
- Login using your University NetID and password.
- Select the option, “Place a hold or pickup request”
- Fill in the Pickup Location and other necessary fields before submitting.
To request a scan from items available Boatwright Library
- Search for the item in OneSearch
- Identify the item and go into the item's record
- Under "Get It", click the Sign In option.
- Login using your University NetID and password.
- Select the option, “Digitization”.
- Fill in the necessary fields before submitting. Current request limit is set at 2 chapters or 25 pages.
To request an item not available from Boatwright Library
- Identify the article and obtain the citation
- Check to see if UR Libraries owns the periodical by checking the Journal Titles or OneSearch
- Go to Interlibrary Loan/Illiad and login using UR NetID and password
- Select “Article Request / Interlibrary Loan” from the left menu
- Enter the citation and submit the request
