Library Lockers
Working on your thesis? Are the number of library materials you need to manage and organize weighing you down? Boatwright Memorial Library has a solution. The Library provides Semester-use lockers to students, faculty and staff to alleviate the burden of a heavy backpack/briefcase. Lockers are available in two sizes and are located on the second floor and basement level 2.
Semester-Use lockers are held for a full semester. You are welcome to renew locker between semesters. Approximately one week before the assignment expires, an email will be sent out with the option for renewal.
Library lockers are available in two sizes:
- Small (Level B2): 22” x 16” x 13”
- Large (2nd floor): 40” x 18” x 19”
The following Terms & Conditions govern use of the public lockers in Boatwright Memorial Library:
- Personal property may be kept in the locker at my own risk.
- The University of Richmond assumes no responsibility for the contents of library lockers.
- Foods, liquids, and perishable or hazardous items may not be kept in the locker.
- Library books must be checked-out (borrowed) before being kept in the locker.
- Reference books and other in-library use books may not be kept in the locker.
- Any library owned materials that are not properly checked out or that are designated reference or in-library use will be removed from lockers.
- The library reserves the right to open lockers at any time to perform inspections to ensure these conditions are observed.
- Any violation of this agreement, may result in the emptying of the locker and suspension of locker privileges.
- Locker assignments are made on a first come, first served basis.
- All materials must be removed from the locker by the date the assignment expires.
- If a locker is not vacated by the time its assignment expires, the locker will be opened and its contents removed.
- Materials owned by the library will be checked in and returned to their proper locations.
- Other items will be held in the library's lost and found for one week. Items not retrieved after one week will be donated or discarded.
- Library staff will not open a locker for you unless there is a malfunction with the locking mechanism. You are responsible for the key or the combination until your access expires.
- This policy is subject to review and revision at the conclusion of each semester.
Faculty and students who would like use of a locker for a semester should complete the Boatwright Memorial Library Locker Request Form and submit it. All applicants will receive email notification within 24 hours of locker assignment.
