Summer 2025 Library Services
May 9–Aug. 3
The library will continue all services during construction; however, some services will be modified starting May 9, 2025 to ensure the safety of our staff and patrons.
Parsons Music Library will be open during normal operating hours.
Library Staff
- Boatwright Library staff will be working remotely and from various locations on campus to assist users with material/collection access and reference assistance.
- All staff contact information will remain the same. The library’s general email inboxes, live chat, and texts will be monitored as usual.
- Research and Instruction Librarians will be in The Refectory and will be continue with instruction, research, and appointments with the campus community as usual. Reach them via the Ask a Librarian page.
Materials
All materials will still be available for checkout. From May 9–Aug. 3, materials located on B2 must be requested and picked up or delivered through campus mail.
- Items requested by faculty and staff will be delivered by campus mail to campus departments.
- Items requested by students will be available for pick up by appointment.
- Recreational reading will be available in Parsons Library. No request needed.
- Book returns can be made at Parsons or at the book drop located at the tower entrance.
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) items will be available for pick up at Parsons Music Library. Email ill@richmond.edu with questions.
Building Access for Adjacent Units
Although the library itself will be closed, several adjacent units will remain open and accessible via the Boatwright Tower and Admin Wing entrances, including:
- The Faculty Hub
- The Weinstein Learning Center (WLC)
- The Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CIE)
- The Administrative Wing (A&S Dean, Chancellor’s Office, Academic Advising, and SSIR)
Please contact these units directly with any questions about access or services.
The elevator leading to B2 will be non-operational starting summer 2025 through fall 2026. Patrons with disabilities can make a request online or in-person at the ground level circulation desk to have a staff member retrieve materials while the elevator is down.
Parking lot R51 (behind the library) will be closed starting summer 2025.
